Immerse Yourself In Summer Camp This Winter

Hello boys and girls, all young adults and kind, caring moms and dads. It is hoped that you enjoyed this tongue in cheek introduction to your next summer camp. Imagine that. How is it possible for you to go on a summer camp right smack bang in the middle of a cold, harsh winter? Quite. For instance, if your mom and dad are busy making plans to relocate in order to take advantage of better career or business opportunities, you could be enrolled for attendance at a Chinese immersion summer camp.

It does not have to be Beijing, of course. You could just as easily be relocated to Manila in the Philippines with its pleasingly steep traditions in your culture and religion. That is assuming, of course, that you just happen to be Americanized or of the Latino persuasion, in which case your mother tongue could be Spanish. That’s going to be part of your immersion training. You’re going to be introduced to the country’s history and cultural customs.

Oh, and its dominant religion. So, if you’re heading off to Manila or any one of the world’s fast-growing cities in this region, you’ll be steeped in Catholic church customs and rituals. It’s a colorful affair and there’s many festivals to look forward to during the year. If, for instance, you’re going to be based in Hong Kong, one of the world’s most congested cities and most expensive places to live in, you’ll be introduced to all the Chinese festivals.

Even if you can’t speak a word of Mandarin, it’s really highly entertaining. And in any case, many young folks over there are quite comfortable with your language by now. Who knows, some of them may have been on a summer camp during winter.
